The hospital project, awarded to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), was formally signed on April 20, 2024. With a total budget of MVR 185 million, the facility is scheduled for completion within two years and will house 50 beds.
Sustainability is a key focus of the project. The hospital will feature solar-powered systems to reduce long-term energy costs. Its medical infrastructure will include piped oxygen, medical air, and suction systems to support advanced treatment and emergency care.
This development marks a significant milestone for Manadhoo and the broader Noonu Atoll, promising lasting improvements to both local healthcare access and the regional health network.
